5 Reveiws for Programming Video Games for the Evil Genius

  1. B. Roman says:

there’s a lot of mistakes in the book, if you already know a little bit of programming you can probably see the errors but for people who does not know anything it will be very difficult to understand cuz it won’t work with so many mistakes, I think the author need to check the book again and correct them.

  2. Programming Video Games for the Evil Genius

If your goal is world domination or to design the hottest chick in the world of video games and you are older than 15, this is NOT the book for you. While the title is catchy enough to warrant a read-through, the information is thin, at best, and the writing style is clearly meant for someone who is looking to enter the wonderful world of game programming.

Ideally, this would be a great book for one of those computer camps that so many kids seem to end up in every summer.

Considering Cinnamon has such an in-depth grasp on gaming at his young age, I certainly recommend this book. I also recommend continuing to keep an eye on anything he produces in the future.

  4. Paul E. Dunn says:

I don’t doubt Ian’s prowess as a programmer, but this book is not well written/edited. There are many errors that I would not have noticed had I not had previous programming experience. Also, the descriptions of the purpose of adding particular code is a little vague at times.

Overall: Ian’s book is pretty good, but has a lot of errors that need to be corrected.

  5. S. C. Ggem says:

Another dud from the folks at evil genius. I was duped by the glowing reviews that I just don’t agree with. Seems to be little more than a rehash of the projects they probably ‘teach’ at the camp that advertises in the book. Not what I expected, I wish I had bought lunch instead of this book.
